Urgent Question

Is the game tippy-cup or flip-cup? I've always called it tippy-cup but my clerk informs me I am WRONG.

Buster girl - I'm choosing to ignore wikipedia because I refuse to admit that I might be wrong about this. It is TIPPY CUP, darn it! Actually, I think tippy cup might be the Minnesota name for the game and the rest of the world calls it flip cup. Sort of like the pop/soda debate.

Tippy cup is the game where you place an empty plastic cup upside down so the rim of the cup hangs over the edge of a table. you then thwack the overhanging bit in an effort to tip and/or flip the cup into an upright position. Last person to tip cup upright must fill cup with alcoholic beverage and drink.

Can be played in teams, relay-style, where the player preceding you must flip their cup upright before you take your turn. The last team to have all players complete the flipping must fill cups with beverages and drink.

The next time you come over, Molly, we're playing tippy cup. Or flip cup. Whatever it's called, we're playing it.

I hate to tell you this, but it's totally FLIP CUP.

If you want real fun, you have to try the variation that my friends and I made up in college. It's called "FC Squared" or Full Contact Flip Cup!
